Paul Simcox
CEO & Managing Partner
Paul Simcox is the CEO and co-founder of Fundamental Real Estate Partners, focused on corporate and fund strategy and execution, capital allocation and acquisitions, and his role as General Partner. He also serves as the CEO and co-founder of Distrikt Capital, a real estate development and private equity firm based in Toronto with a current development pipeline valued in excess of $5 billion USD on completion.
Paul has extensive experience with the creation and growth of investment platforms, building aligned teams of top-tier leadership professionals focused on long-term value creation. Prior to Fundamental and Distrikt, Paul was the co-founder, and member of the Board of Trustees for Whiterock REIT, a TSX listed firm (WRK.UN). From original idea conception and no employees, Whiterock grew from a new startup to a vertically integrated, national real estate platform with office, industrial, and retail assets in nearly every province in Canada, and was acquired by Dundee REIT for over $1 billion USD.
Paul started his career at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston in New York in real estate investment banking, and later real estate private equity at JPMorgan Partners. He has served and is serving as board member for other public and private entities in the REIT, private equity fund, and child education industries. Paul has an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with honours, and serves on the Board of Governors for Crescent School.
